4-30-15
It was grandparent day and we looked at a PowerPoint that Mr. Schick put together. We learned that Latin's, Greeks, and Etruscans were the first people top settle in Rome. Etruscans came from the north-central part of the peninsula. They consisted of metalworkers, artists, and architects. The Greeks had many colonies around the Mediterranean Sea. Romans borrowed ideas from them like religious beliefs, alphabet, much of their art, and military techniques and weaponry. The Latin's were descendants of Indo-European and settled on the banks of the Tiber. They situated so trading ships - not for war fleets- could navigate as far as Rome.
